1.      Guest Speaker – Albert Normandin – The Adventures of Travel

Come share Albert’s Passion for distant and exotic places. Having traveled to over 36 countries, you will see a range of images from these travels. He will also share images and anecdotes from his latest travel addiction Myanmar (Burma), having just completed his 8th trips to The Golden Land. Albert will also be discuss:

 

Preparation for extended travels.

·         the challenges of photographing different cultures, countries and environments.

·         defining a route specific to what your looking for and making the most of being there.

 

·         Medical, insurances, travel arrangements.

 

·         Packing for a trip in the Digital age. What camera gear to bring along and how to keep it simple and efficient for the way you work.

 

·         Panoramic landscapes and the equipment used for this work

 

This presentation is geared towards the interests of photographers rather than the general attendees of Showcase. Room 103 is a smaller venue off the Shadbolt lobby seating 120. Get your tickets early.

 

2) Showcase Extraordinaire!

Our popular annual Showcase event of 15 - 20 slide shows set to music. This event usually sells out. Please get your tickets in advance.  James Cowan Theatre opens at 6:30 pm. The show begins at 7pm sharp. Arrive early to view the print exhibit in the lobby.
